Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which seal or ‘confirm’ the baptized in unison with Christ and equip them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church” (Catechism of the Catholic Church).
The Sacrament of Confirmation helps to root individuals deeply in their identity as God’s children, filled with the grace of the Holy Spirit. At Confirmation individuals choose and own their identify in the Church, committing themselves to lives that reflect the Holy Spirit living within them. Teens who wish to be confirmed are prepared in their ninth-grade year. Preparation is a one-year process and begins shortly after Labor Day in September. Online registration for the 2023-2024 year is ongoing. Go to https://indianapolis.parishsoftfamilysuite.com to begin the process. Those who already have a portal made with ParishSoft (My Own Church) can register through their family site.
Baptized adults wishing to receive this sacrament, or adults seeking admittance into the Catholic Church, must take part in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, OCIA, (formerly known as the RCIA).
