Confirmation Preparation at St. Charles
Confirmation is a special outpouring of the Holy Spirit which brings an increase and deepening of baptismal grace - it seals our baptism. Through Confirmation we are rooted more deeply to God the Father and united more firmly to Christ. We receive the special strength of the Holy Spirit to spread and defend the faith in our words and actions. In the world today all of us need all the strength we can get to do good and avoid the distractions and temptations that can draw us away from God and his grace.
Confirmation preparation is a one year process for students that takes place during the ninth grade year. All teens need to have been baptized in the Catholic Church and have celebrated the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist in order to enroll in this preparation.
Preparation includes attendance and participation at the Noon Mass on class days, which are twice a month. Following mass there will be snacks and small group work. The formation and preparation for the sacrament includes 20 hours of service and a written letter to the archbishop.
